Sometimes, when trapped in the world of sensory overload where each sneaker is trying to be bigger and louder than the next, a simple pair of blue kicks can come as a breath of refreshing air.
Breaking new ground as the only sneaker boutique in Singapore to have been invited by adidas Consortium to put their name and design to an iconic shoe, The Limited Edt (L.E) Vault decided to utilize and face lift the vintage tennis Rod Laver from the adidas archive.
The Rod Laver Consortium project made its debut in Aug 2009 and the L.E Vault design represents the final collaboration for this hugely successful Rod laver series. Fusing their design experience and perspective, L.E Vault has put the shoes through a little alchemy whilst still staying true to the spirit of this legendary beauty. Principal designer Jonning Chng’s interpretation of the Rod Laver is a deceptively simple design functional and subtle additions that build on the upper perfectly alongside some more eye-catching touches. He has chosen to dress the shoes in fresh color ways whilst paying an emphasis on lines and flow – giving the Rod Lavers an interesting treatment with glow-in-the-dark textured gridlines on its full grain leather uppers. Sign off details include sewn on brand labels on the sockliner and heel patch, metallic turquoise lace tips and eyelet for a sleek finish.
“I’m honored to offer Originals’ fans our signature interpretation of Rod Laver’s effortless style aesthetic. The Limited Edt Vault has always been a great destination for sneakers and this adds a little something special into our already-exciting collection.” – Mandeep Chopra, Owner
